Prayer Prescriptions

NOTE FROM TAM:  When my online friend and author Kate Loving Shenk asked me to participate in a blog tour in support of her new book “Prayer Prescription” I was eager to support her. I met Kate online three years ago and have watched her from afar, checking in on her blog when I needed a new outlook. I find her wise, kind, tactful, and spiritually deep. To me, prayer is a form of alchemy. Our heartfelt thoughts and words move energy in powerful ways, to offer you, my readers a book on prayer is long over due. Kate’s long history in nursing more than qualifies her to write a book titled Prayer Prescriptions: Spiritual Remedies for Long Lasting Health. Below is an introduction to my friend and her newly released title.

Thank you, Tam, for hosting my Virtual Book Tour, today. The name of my book is Prayer Prescriptions: Spiritual Remedies For Long Lasting Health.

Every religion and spiritual tradition uses  prayer as a means for illumination, enlightenment and as a way to find the pathway to freedom.

As one little area of our life straightens out because of our ability to pray, the next area of our life straightens out and the next and the next and the next.

Your prayer prescription may be completely different than mine mainly because we are perhaps starting at different focus points. My guess is that we end up at the same place which is in a place of healing.

Prayer heals. As a nurse for 28 years, I have often used prayer to get my patients out of sticky situations, even life-threatening situations, which in medical terms, is called a miracle. No one can explain what happened.

Prayer is in the closet. No one openly discusses their prayer practice. One of the questions we have to ask all patients when they come  into the hospital, is: “Do
You have a spiritual or religious practice that brings you comfort?”

The answer I most often get, is “I pray.”

The book Prayer Prescriptions began on a blog, and turned into a book which will be published the middle of May. This is a miracle as far as I’m concerned, with many more prayer prescription books in the making.

Enjoy your journey to Tam’s blog today. And think about what your prayer prescription is for today. If you’re so led, please feel  free to share that with all of us here.

I’d like you to stop by my author blog. There’s a lot going on there and we’ll have an opportunity to connect there. Please be sure to introduce yourself!

Kate has been a practicing RN/CRNP for 28 years, and currently acts as a Labor And Delivery Nurse, which is very special, indeed.

Additionally, Kate is planning further “Prayer Prescriptions” books surrounding aging gracefully and Prayer Prescriptions For The Love Of Our Companion Animals.
